What personal data of yours will we process? And for what purposes?
We process the data you send us in connection with your application in order to assess your suitability for the position (or any other open position in our company) and to complete the application process.

What’s the legal basis?
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data in this application procedure is primarily section 26 of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) in the version valid since May 25, 2018. According to this law, the processing of data required in connection to making an employment relationship decision is permitted.

Should the data be necessary for legal prosecution after completion of the application
procedure, data processing may be carried out on the basis of the requirements of Article 6 of the GDPR, in particular to safeguard legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Our interest then lies in the assertion or defense of claims.

How long will your data be saved for?
In the event of a rejected application, applicant data will be deleted after six months.
Should you agree to extended storage of your personal data, we will transfer your data to our applicant pool. There the data will be deleted after two years.
If you receive a position as part of the application process, your data will be transferred from the applicant data system to our personnel information system.

Who will your data be forwarded to?
We use a specialized software provider for the application process who acts as a service provider for us and may also obtain knowledge of your personal data in connection with the maintenance and servicing of our systems. We are working with this provider under an “order processing contract” which ensures that the data processing is carried out in a permissible manner.

Once your application has been received, your applicant data will be reviewed by the personnel department. Suitable applications are then forwarded internally to the department managers responsible for the respective open position. The further progress of the application will then be decided. Only those persons in the company who require your data for the proper course of the application procedure will have access to your data.

Where will your data be processed?
Your data will be processed exclusively in data centers of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Your rights as an “data subject”
You have the right to information about your personal data that we have processed.
In the case of a request for information that is not made in writing, we ask for your understanding that we may then demand proof that you are the person you claim to be.
Furthermore, you have the right to rectification or deletion or to restriction of the processing to the extent that you are legally entitled to do so.

Furthermore, you have the right to object to the processing within the scope of the statutory provisions. The same applies to the right to data transfer.

Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data. This translation of the original German text can – even when the translation was done with the utmost care – result in different interpretations/meanings. For means of interpretation the German version shall prevail.
